During the Tekna Separation Technology 2018 conference, Worley Origo Process employee Are Bertheussen was invited to present his production chemistry findings at the TÜV SÜD NEL 17th Produced Water Workshop in Aberdeen, Scotland, June 2019. Of special interest were the results relating to a group of water-soluble crude oil components called naphthenic acids, as Brazil now count these components as oil in the oil in water ppm measurement. The Produced Water Workshop organized by TÜV SÜD NEL is a yearly event where regulators, offshore operators, service companies, equipment suppliers and researches come together to present their current practices and trends in produced water management, treatment and handling.
